Four sites on one street, kept in one visit
On Peet Street, Kanga looks after four neighbouring sites built by the same construction group, a steel building products branch, a self storage centre, a service station with a drive-through and a small complex of workshop units, plus a cafe tenancy on the service station lot. They are invoiced separately but serviced together, in one stop of about three hours, fortnightly through spring and summer and monthly in winter. The drive out to Pakenham is paid once, and every site gets the same operator on the same day.
The work is what a new estate frontage needs. The truck driveway at the steel branch carries six large coastal rosemary balls, shaped so trucks and sightlines stay clear. The storage centre has a front bed of about twenty coastal rosemary along the frontage, hand weeded where the mulch is fresh, and nature strips that went in as turf during the build. The service station's road-facing bed runs the length of a colourbond fence with correa, Indian hawthorn and dietes under five young trees, and the drive-through planting behind it. The workshop units have one narrow bed of correa on brown poly drip fed by tap timers, so that visit is a bed check and a timer check rather than a mow.
A seasonal condition report went to the storage centre's manager with the site's own to-do list in it. It recommended a mulch top-up, re-staking two trees that had pulled loose, a renovation of the two front nature strips and a top-dress of the signage lawn, and it noted builders' waste blowing in from the rest of the estate so the client knew where it came from. Smaller things get fixed on the run. A failed tap timer in the drive-through bed was replaced at the next visit, a leaking poly line in the lomandra bed was repaired, and a young gum that had snapped its stake was re-staked on a metal stake that will not fail the same way.
