Grounds care that fits around a school day

A school or community site isn't just another lawn. The contractor has to be checked and comfortable being sight-verified at the office, the mowing can't happen under a classroom window mid-lesson, and someone has to keep paths, sightlines and play spaces safe, every week of term, without the office having to chase it. That's the job Kanga is set up for.

What schools & institutions are really buying

A checked operator the office doesn't have to think about

When a business manager engages a grounds contractor, the real job is making the grounds one less thing on the compliance list.

Child-safe by default

WWCC and police-checked, White Card carded, and the same person on site every visit, so the register always shows one known, checked operator.

Scheduled around your day

Noisy work timed away from class time, assemblies and pick-up: early starts, after hours, and term-break visits for the bigger jobs.

Records for the file

Certificate of Currency, SWMS on request, inductions completed without fuss, and a service report after each visit for your records.

What's included

Everything the grounds need, under one fee

Recurring maintenance scoped to your site and your calendar, not one-off call-outs.

Ovals, lawns & play spaces

Ride-on mowing for ovals and larger open space, push mowing around buildings and play equipment, with edges kept sharp and surfaces left clean.

Hedging, pruning & sightlines

Hedges and shrubs shaped, paths and gateways kept clear, and growth trimmed back from windows, signage and supervision sightlines.

Garden beds & weed control

Entrance and courtyard beds weeded, mulched and kept presentable, with weed spraying planned around term breaks and out-of-hours windows.

Green-waste removal

Clippings and prunings are taken away every visit and disposed of responsibly. Included in the fee, with nothing left on site.

How it works

From first call to a maintained site in four steps

01

Free site walkthrough

I visit the site, walk the grounds with you, and note your induction, sign-in and scheduling requirements.

02

Fixed quote

You get a written quote with a clear scope and schedule. A set fee, no call-out charges.

03

Term-aware maintenance

The same checked operator services the site on a schedule built around your calendar, with catch-up visits in the holidays.

04

Service report each visit

A short record of what was done and anything flagged (a loose paling, a trip hazard, a failing limb), kept for your file.

Why choose Kanga

One checked operator, not a rotating crew

Checked & insured

WWCC, police check and White Card held, with $20M public and products liability and a Certificate of Currency on request for your compliance records.

The same operator, every visit

One known face for your staff and your sign-in register: someone who learns the site, the bell times and the access quirks, with a direct line to the owner.

Fixed fee & service reports

A predictable cost for the annual budget, green waste included, and a written report after each visit so the office never has to chase confirmation.

Common questions

School & institutional grounds - common questions

Do you hold a Working with Children Check?
Yes. Kanga Gardening holds a Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a police check, and is a White Card holder. Because the same person services the site every visit, your sign-in register shows one known, checked operator, not a rotating crew.
Can you work outside school hours?
Yes. Visits are scheduled with the office to suit the site: early starts, after hours, or during term breaks. Noisier work like mowing and blowing is timed away from class time and pick-up, and term holidays are used for bigger catch-up visits.
Are you insured to work on school and community sites?
Yes. Kanga Gardening carries $20M public and products liability and is fully insured. A Certificate of Currency and a safe work method statement (SWMS) are available on request for your compliance file, and site inductions are no problem.
What does school grounds maintenance include?
Recurring mowing of ovals, lawns and play spaces (ride-on and push), hedging and pruning with paths and sightlines kept clear, garden-bed maintenance and weed control, and green-waste removal every visit, under one fixed fee, with a service report after each visit.
How is weed control handled around children?
Carefully. Spraying is planned with the site, typically during term breaks or outside operating hours, and carried out strictly to label directions, and the treated areas are flagged with the office so staff know what was done and where. The service report records it for your file.
