From establishment period to ongoing care on Lower Dandenong Road
A former food manufacturing plant on Lower Dandenong Road, directly opposite Moorabbin Airport, was converted into a self storage facility with a new landscape laid around it. New landscapes are at their most vulnerable in the first months, when plantings need watering in, fresh mulch throws up weeds and new turf takes its first cuts, so the site ran a thirteen week establishment period first. Kanga carried that period under the builder's landscaping arm, and the facility's own ongoing service started the day after it ended, because the end date was written down and both arrangements pointed at it.
The site is an arterial road frontage in front of a national brand, so presentation is the point. Each visit covers a mow of about forty five minutes and an hour or so in the beds, fortnightly through the growing season and stretching to three to five weekly in winter, with the visit signed in at the office on arrival. Before the first ongoing visit Kanga was prequalified through the client's contractor compliance portal, completed the induction, prepared a site-specific job safety analysis and was set up to receive work orders through the client's facilities platform, which is the part of a national brand's grounds contract that a lot of small operators cannot do.
The same loop covers a strata complex of units in Braeside where the common grounds run every two to three weeks, a per-cut mow on Governor Road on a three weekly cycle, and body corporate sites in Dingley Village and Cheltenham. None of them is more than a few minutes from the last, which is what makes a fortnightly standard affordable this close to base.
